Jennifer Hopelezz

Jennifer Hopelezz is the proud mother of the House of Hopelezz, with over 50 children and countless family members. She is not only a mother, but also a businesswoman, activist, columnist and sports fanatic. Originally from Sydney, Australia, she moved to Amsterdam in the 90s because of the liberal and free atmosphere of this beautiful city.
Jennifer is particularly interested in issues surrounding gender, homophobia and transphobia, gay nightlife, sex positivity and HIV.
She campaigns for a ‘safe and sane’ sex and party scene and is the co-founder of PrEPnu, a group that fights for full access to PrEP. She is a strong advocate of sexual diversity and personal responsibility. Jennifer is the co-founder of Pink Point, the LGBTQ information kiosk at the Homomonument, the Drag Olympics, the Streetheart Festival and Superball, a ‘Eurovision for drag artists’. In 2018, Jennifer was an ambassador for Amsterdam Pride and opened and hosted the ‘International Aids Conference Global Village’ in both 2018 and 2020.
She is currently co-owner of the gay sauna NZ, the Amsterdam fetish club chUrch, nude bar Free Willie, and is also a board member of the GALA (Gay & Lesbian Amsterdam) Foundation.
In 2024, the House of Hopelezz won the ‘Amsterdam Fund for the Arts’ Incentive Award.
