Rob Jurka was the owner of a gallery in Amsterdam from 1970 to 2007 and has exhibited the works of David Hockney, Andy Warhol and Peter Klashorst. He was the first gallery owner to add photography to his regular gallery program.
He was also the first gallerist in Europe to exhibit Robert Mapplethorpe in 1979 and was responsible for the first catalogue of Mapplethorpe’s works. Known for his regular exhibits of Mapplethorpe’s work in his gallery, Rob has also been presented with awards for his work at major international art exhibitions in Basel and Paris.
